A message from our chapter president:
My husband and I were fortunate to move to this community in 2000 and witness a thriving Comal ISD—one known for its commitment to excellence and its investment in students. Unfortunately, in recent years, the district has faced increasing financial challenges due to chronic underfunding, despite continued
growth and the rising needs of our schools.
Today, many of our children are learning in portable classrooms rather than in permanent learning spaces. Programs that once inspired and engaged students are being reduced or eliminated. Teachers and staff are being asked to do more with less, often without the resources necessary to meet the needs of every child.
The result is a growing strain on the quality of education that has long been a source of pride for our community. Last year alone, Comal ISD faced a $23 million funding shortfall. This is not just a
budget issue—it is a community issue. It affects our children's educational experiences, our teachers' ability to succeed, and the future workforce and leaders of Texas.
We cannot afford to remain silent. If you believe every child deserves access to a quality education, if you value strong public schools, and if you want to protect the opportunities that have made Comal ISD exceptional, I urge you to attend the Comal ISD Board Meeting on August 4, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the district's main office, 1404 IH-35 North. Your presence matters. Bring a neighbor. Invite a friend. Share this message with parents, grandparents, business owners, and community members who care about the future of our schools. Decision-makers need to see that our community stands united in support of our students and educators.
Together, we can make our voices heard. Together, we can advocate for the funding our children deserve. And together, we can ensure that Comal ISD continues to provide outstanding education that has shaped generations of students. Please join us on August 4. Our children are counting on us.
